Description

Are you a 2nd Line Support Engineer or an experienced 1st line looking for your next challenge? You will be working for a managed service provider (MSP) so there will be plenty of variety from working with SMEs to large companies. You will have strong analytical and people skills and the drive to learn and develop.

What will you be doing as a 2nd Line Technical Support Engineer?

  • 2nd Line support for Windows desktops, laptops, hardware, and software
  • 2nd Line support for Windows 2008 – 2019 Servers (On-Prem/Virtual/Azure)
  • Support of Microsoft Exchange and Office 365
  • Writing and updating User and System Documentation
  • Network and Server Administration
  • Working on SLA-based technical support calls
  • Troubleshooting Microsoft SharePoint
  • As and when required attend client sites.

 

What are we looking for in a 2nd Line Engineer?

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to demonstrate a professional, respectful and proactive approach to customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and work to deadlines.
  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Attention to detail.
  • An understanding of troubleshooting MS Windows Server 2008/2012/2016; Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016; Office 365; and Microsoft Windows 7, 8 and 10
  • Knowledge of Server Hardware including HP and Dell.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of TCP/IP, SSL Certificates & DNS records
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple requests through the helpdesk system
  • Have the technical knowledge to make recommendations to clients, suggesting genuine system improvements and upgrades.
  • Have a diligent approach that achieves a long term and cost-effective results for our clients.
  • Understanding of Microsoft SharePoint design and Microsoft Azure is desirable.
  • Full Clean UK Driving License is essential as you may need to travel to client sites.
