Communications & Marketing Manager    Hailsham      £45K

We are proud to be working with a unique institution that blends education, heritage, hospitality, and commercial ventures to find a Communications & Marketing Manager as they enter an exciting phase of growth and transformation.

The Communications and Marketing Manager will develop and deliver targeted, strategic communications and marketing to support the academic and commercial activities of this unique heritage site. Working collaboratively across all departments, the role will deliver innovative solutions across digital platforms, media relations and brand assets to strengthen and support institutional priorities and audience engagement.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short and long-term communications and marketing strategies.
  • Manage and coordinate the communications portfolio across units, providing strategic guidance.
  • Oversee website content and development, ensuring accessibility and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Plan and execute social media strategies to drive engagement and brand awareness.
  • Lead integrated marketing and communications campaigns across digital channels.
  • Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and tone across all platforms and media.
  • Manage creation of brand assets, including photography and videography.
  • Monitor performance using analytics, surveys, and reporting tools to meet objectives.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement tools and platforms to meet evolving audience needs.

Someone with….

  • A degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related discipline is highly desirable although proven experience in communications, marketing, or brand management is most essential.
  • Proven experience using marketing and communication processes and tools, including advertising (digital and print), graphic design, website development and social media marketing tools.
  • Strong digital, social media, and content strategy skills.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the following tools: MailChimp, Eventbrite, Meta business suite, Google Analytics, WordPress, Woocommerce, SquareUp, Booking.com, FreetoBook.com.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, privacy, and compliance best practices.
  • Experience working within a heritage, cultural or visitor attraction setting is highly desirable.

  • Competitive Salary: £45,000
  • Generous Leave: 6.6 weeks inclusive of Bank Holidays.
